Today’s the Day!

Sunday 8th Dec
After immense support and generosity from family and friends, today is the day to take the plunge in support of suicide prevention. To share hope and love and just a little reminder that I see you and you matter. 

My challenges with mental health have been long going and continue, but showing support for others who may have similar experiences helps me as well by giving me a purpose when my mind says I have nothing to offer the world. Saying “thank you” to any support given will never feel like enough to express my gratitude to everyone who supports the cause of mental health awareness and hope.

You are loved more than you may ever know

Mental health advocacy is helping change the way we see mental illness in the world, but there is still great stigma to be conquered. What I find to be most inspirational in some of my darkest times is hearing or reading about other people’s stories and 1. Knowing I am not alone in the darkness and 2. By supporting others in their struggles, I inadvertently help support myself and ease the heaviness that feels so pervasive at times. 

We live in a world that thrives on us hating ourselves so companies can continue to capitalize on our insecurities and illnesses. Just remember,  no matter where you are in the world, when you feel like no one cares, know that I am out there sending so much love to each and every one of you. Please don’t ever think your existence was a mistake. You are loved and you matter. As TWLOHA so vibrantly exclaims, “Heal out loud, we almost lost you in silence”. Your voice is valid. I see you, I hear you and I love you.
