December Dip for Suicide Prevention

I'm fundraising for...

I've decided to do a December Dip in cold water to raise funds for the charity To Write Love On Her Arms so they can help prevent suicide. I'd be delighted if you made a donation to support me, my challenge and give hope and help to people who really need it this holiday season.

My Son

Tuesday 26th Nov
As most of you know, my son, on August 10th 2021, decided to try and commit suicide. He would have been successful if it wasn’t for my mom finding him and cutting him down and performing CPR and never giving up until medical personnel arrived.
Unfortunately, because of the lack of oxygen for so long my son will never be the same again. He can no longer walk, talk, eat, or breathe on his own at night. He is also now blind. He is not completely brain dead, but we don’t know for sure how much he can comprehend or remember. But I do know, that he knows me. He knows my voice, because he smiles when he hears it and he gives a slight sigh of relief that mommy is there and he closes his eyes and falls asleep.

Not only is it hard for them, but it is hard for the families involved. But remember to never give up.
The thing with suicide is there is never ever one reason for it. There is always more than just one bad day. It’s a chemical imbalance. And mental health is so taboo to talk about that we as a society don’t talk enough to each other.

If you can’t donate I completely understand. But I challenge you to talk to one person, especially your children to see how they really are. To tell them it’s ok, to not be ok. And it’s ok to talk. And this is just a small short time in their lives that they have so much more to do, see, and live for. That they are loved and appreciated. Those two words can change someone’s lives! I promise you.
